  • Phone number (used for account creation and authentication)

  • Questionnaire responses and preferences

  • Event attendance and match selections

  • Usage data such as pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Account authentication: To verify your identity via SMS one-time passcodes when you log in

  • Profile and matching: To create your profile, display it to other event attendees, and facilitate the matching process based on questionnaire compatibility

  • Event services: To show you relevant events, manage your event registrations, and send event-related notifications

  • SMS notifications: To send you authentication codes, event reminders, match alerts, and important service updates (see Section 4 below)

  • Service improvement: To understand how users interact with the Service so we can improve features and fix issues

  • Safety and security: To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms and Conditions

  • Communication: To respond to your support requests and provide customer service

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, lease, or distribute your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

  • With other users: Your profile information (name, photo, bio, city) is visible to other users of the Service as part of the event and matching features. Contact information (phone number, email) is only shared with users you mutually match with.

  • Service providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate the platform, including cloud hosting, SMS delivery, authentication, and event management. These providers only access your data as necessary to perform their services and are contractually obligated to protect it.

  • Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

We will never share your phone number, email address, or personal data with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.

4. SMS and Text Messaging Privacy

Symbol XO uses SMS text messaging for account authentication and service notifications. When you provide your phone number:

  • Your phone number is used solely for authentication and delivering service-related notifications (event reminders, match alerts, account updates).

  • Your phone number is never sold, shared, or provided to third parties for marketing purposes.

  • SMS messages are delivered through trusted third-party messaging providers who are contractually prohibited from using your phone number for any purpose other than message delivery.

  • You can opt out of SMS at any time by texting STOP. Text HELP for assistance.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit, secure server infrastructure, and access controls limiting who can view your data.
